These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Connection(the “Service”). By creating an account, listing a business, or otherwise using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. The Service
Connection is a business-to-business marketplace that helps verified businesses discover, vet, and communicate with one another. We provide tools — profiles, verification, messaging, reviews — that enable transactions between independent businesses.
We are not the employer, contractor, agent, or representative of any business listed on the Service. Any agreement formed between users is solely between those users.
2. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to bind a business entity to these Terms.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Verification
We offer optional verification badges (email, phone, EIN, business license, insurance). Verification is performed on a reasonable-effort basis; we do not guarantee that any verified business is suitable, solvent, or free of misconduct. You are responsible for your own diligence before transacting.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Post fraudulent, misleading, or fake business information.
- Submit fake reviews, manipulate ratings, or harass other users.
- Send spam, unsolicited bulk inquiries, or attempt to circumvent rate limits.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the Service.
- Violate any applicable law or third-party right.
Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account without notice.
5. Content & reviews
You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Connection a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content on the Service for the purpose of operating the platform.
Reviews must be based on a genuine interaction with the reviewed business. We enforce this in our database — only businesses with a recorded contact request can be reviewed.
6. Payments & fees
Listing on Connection is free during our launch period. Premium placement, escrow, and payment processing features are on the roadmap and will be governed by additional terms presented at the time of purchase.
7. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Connection DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8. Limitation of liability
IN NO EVENT WILL CONNECTION BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US$100 OR THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including suspected violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@connection.example.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Alabama, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
